Most popular gaming blockchains: June 2023

Crunching data from June 2023 from the Big Blockchain Game List we now list 824 games which are either live or are in development.

Breaking this down in terms of blockchains, we find that in terms of games deployed on a single blockchain, Polygon is on top with 98 games (12%) that are either live or in development.

BNB is second with 80 games (10%) and Ethereum third with 78 games (9%).

This can be compared to our January 2023 update which saw BNB in top with 14%, Polygon second with 12% and Ethereum third with 11% of all games.

And in November 2022, BNB was top with 16% of all games, Polygon on 14% and Ethereum and Solana both with 10% each.

It’s no great surprise to see that Solana has slipped back since, currently on 6%.

Of course, it is worth pointing out that the largest single category is Multichain at 17%, which is projects that operate on two or more blockchains.

Two things in closing. Firstly, we’re not AI, and as such there will be human bias in the selection process. Not every single blockchain project has enough substance (yet) to be added to the list. We’re always open for discussion, so connect with us on Twitter or drop us a line at bigblockchaingamelist (at) gmail (dot) com.

Secondly, we’ve realised increasingly that there’s a need to look deeper into the existing games on the list and see whether these still have vital blockchain elements or plans in that respect, as we’re starting to see some projects changing track. Stay tuned for future updates.
