Having completed our calculations for H1 2023, we can see that of the 1072 blockchain games which have been entered onto the list since it started, 248 (23%) have now been cancelled for various reasons.
This is slightly increased from the 21% figure cited in our Q1 2023 update, which is to be expected given current market conditions.
When we breakdown these discontinued games in terms of blockchains, it’s clear that BNB has suffered the worst attrition rate, with 39 titles falling by the wayside.
Ethereum is second with 27 games but some of these have simply migrated to other chains or gone multichain. Champions Ascension’s move from Ethereum to Polygon is one high profile example.
Polygon has lost 26 games, some of which have moved to Immutable, while Solana has lost 24 games, some to Sui and/or multichain, and some due to market conditions.
